Five things you need to know about Indagare Natural Beauty

Are you thinking about ordering your first Indagare Natural Beauty products? We encourage conscious consumerism - in fact, being aware of who makes your products, how the ingredients are sourced and offering transparent ingredient lists are core to our values! So, here are a few things we’d love you to know…

Our skincare products are all made in Australia

We don’t outsource our skincare manufacturing. This gives us the freedom to source only the best-quality ingredients and create formulas based on results rather than financial margins. While scaling up production may help businesses save money, it also brings compromises. By not outsourcing our production,  we can make our organic skincare in small, fresh batches right here in Brisbane, Australia. By maintaining control of every ingredient in our formulas, you’re guaranteed to enjoy organic skincare that’s bursting with vitamins and omega fatty acids for optimum skin health. While some skincare companies literally just slap their labels on preformulated concoctions, our products are carefully conceived and created, each one taking 10-12 months to bring to beautiful life.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil for Skincare

We only use pristine, high-quality ingredients

Although many of our suppliers are based in Australia, we do have to source some products from other countries. For example, genuine argan oil only comes from Morocco. We source our exquisite argan oil (and prickly pear seed oil and rhassoul clay) by going directly to a fair-trade group of Berber families in Morocco. While for the best-quality Immortelle, an incredibly healing botanical that grows in the Mediterranean, we work directly with a family farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina. (Nope, we didn’t realise Bosnia and Herzegovina was in the Mediterranean either, until we started the Indagare journey! But fun fact: it has 22km of seaside, making it the second-smallest coastline in the world, just after Monaco.) And while some suppliers buy their oils in bulk, often storing them over long periods (in who-knows-what conditions) and thereby jeopardising the quality, we bring everything over in small batches. It means the quality can’t be compromised, so your skin will reap the benefits of these nurtrient-rich oils.

Most of our ingredients are certified-organic

If a product in our line is not made from 100% certified-organic ingredients, it will come very close! We always use 100% certified-organic ingredients where possible, but occasionally it’s just not possible. But rest assured, we clearly indicate the certified-organic status of each individual component in our ingredient lists, so you can check every item!

Ethical Skincare, certified cruelty free by PETA (Indagare Beauty)

We’re ethical

We work with fair-trade communities in rural Morocco, and the brand is certified cruelty-free by PETA. Our packaging is designed to be eco-friendly – we hope you find a use for the glass bottles and if you can't reuse your cardboard tubes, please recycle them. Some of our products come in luxurious velvet bags so you can repurpose them (tip: they’re great for travelling!). Bathroom products are a little trickier due to safety issues, but any jars in this range are recyclable, although we do try to offer refill pouches where possible to avoid one-use plastics.

We’re affordable

Yes, you can buy cheaper skincare, but you’ll get what you pay for: be aware that many ingredients used in cheaper brands can be questionable. On the flip side, take a look at the ingredient lists – and prices – of some of the big-name skincare brands. Then compare them with Indagare. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. Not only do we use the best-quality ingredients, but we also don’t have the huge marketing budgets that most big-name, top-end brands need to factor in to their products’ retail prices. One last thing (you might already know this, but if not it will change the way you buy skincare products forever): Whatever’s first on the ingredients list is the main ingredient. The further down the list you go, the smaller the amounts are used. Once you see how often you’re paying for basically just plain old water (plus a few scary lab-produced ingredients that you probably don’t want anywhere near your skin), you’ll never buy skincare products in the same way again!
